What data we collect about you?
We collect information when you set up your account within Chirp Mail and use the services available within Chirp Mail (such as Add Mail Account or Unified Account), such as email address, nickname, mobile number (if provided), avatar, and login credentials (i.e. OAuth tokens, if necessary).
We do not collect your mails, whether sent to or received from others. Your mails are stored on your own mail servers as well as your own devices running Chirp Mail or other mail apps.
We use a variety of security technologies and procedures for the purpose of preventing loss, misuse, unauthorized access, or disclosure of Information – for example, we use encryption technology (such as SSL or AES) in nearly everywhere (wherever possible) within Chirp Mail to protect certain sensitive Information provided by you to us. Please be aware that despite our efforts, no data security measures can guarantee 100% security at all times. We do not warrant or guarantee the security of Chirp Mail or any information you provide to us through Chirp Mail.
How do we use your info?
We use your information to provide Chirp Mail to you, allow you to communicate with other users. We use your information for account set-up, to facilitate communications, provide support, allow you to access features of Chirp Mail, and to improve Chirp Mail. Chirp Mail uses contact channels provided by you, such as mobile number or email address, for verifying and protecting your account and for important administrative reasons and does not use these channels for promotional or marketing reasons.
Chirp Mail enables certain information such as nickname and avatar to be shared publicly with your Chirp Mail contacts and other users of Chirp Mail. Please consider carefully what you post and communicate through Chirp Mail. In some instances, you may control what access the wider public has to your Shared Information via the privacy settings in Chirp Mail.
Who do we share your data with?
We use third parties for support services, such as SMS service providers for account validation, Push services for new mail notification. We use these third-party services solely to process or store your information for the purposes described in this policy. We also share your information with related group companies or as required by law. Aside from the previously mentioned purposes, Chirp Mail does not share your data to third-parties without your prior explicit consent. Any third party (selected by us) with whom we share user data will provide the same or equal protection of user data as stated in this policy.
Where do we process your data?
Our servers are located in United States, Singapore and China. To continue improving the services we provide, we may have new servers located in other countries in future. We also have support, engineering and other teams located around the world. Your data may be accessed from such locations. Rigorous internal control measures are undertaken to strictly limit access to your data by designated team members.
How long do we keep hold of your data?
The time we retain your information for depends on the type of information – for example, log-in data is retained for up to 90 days from the date the data is collected. If you instruct us to delete your Chirp Mail account, your information is deleted within 90 days of the latter of verification of account ownership and receiving your account deletion request.
How can I exercise my rights over my data?
You may have special rights over your data and how we can use it. These include how you can access the data, erasing the data, restricting how your data can be used, objecting to its use, and getting a copy of your information.
